YOU SHOULD DO IT IN GOOD COMPANY

Michael Farr

OWNER / CREATOR

Mike Farr, aka Silent Mike, has dedicated his life to supporting others in their goals and to building community. After spending over 15 years playing and coaching basketball he switched gears into the weight room. Over the last decade, he focused on helping thousands of athletes around the world with their strength and fitness goals. Powerlifting is considered an individual sport but Mike has found his role in helping others through education and entertainment using the barbell as his vessel. He is honored to share his passions for food, music, and sports with Good Company apparel design via Third Street with you all.

Jim McDonald

OWNER

Jim left the corporate world behind a couple of decades ago and became a consultant in IT and healthcare marketing. In the early 2000s, he discovered powerlifting and began to document its training and some of its greatest performances as an early YouTube fitness creator. He focused on visuals that helped the audience understand not only the technical aspects of powerlifting, but also the emotions that drive lifters to lift. Eventually, he created a chart-topping podcast along with Mike Farr… just before the worldwide explosion in podcast listenership. His role at 3SB is both administrative and creative, and he’s finding the balance between those a day at a time.

Kyle Castro

GYM EL JEFE

Kyle was gifted with the ability to throw solid round objects very hard and accurately. He was a third-round MLB draft pick at the age of 17, but shoulder and elbow injuries eventually ended his baseball dreams. He started dabbling in strength training and this led to meeting (and vibing) with members of what has become the 3SB crew. He feels that the core philosophy of the gym and the brand fit perfectly with his values. He states, “I’m a God-fearing man that works hard and I want to help as many people as I can regardless of age, sex, or race. I hope to have the strongest lifters in the world at our gym, but also the brand-new lifter that has never touched a barbell. Neither one of them is more important than the other.”

Goody Bear

The Face

Our beloved bear comes to us from a career as a mascot for a now-defunct California amusement destination called “Good Company Adventure Park.” When he heard that “Good Company” was at the heart of our philosophy, he reached out -- excited to offered his services. He’s a genial fellow, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a bit of an edge. Never tell him he’s not capable of meeting a goal, and never ever ask him to wear tacky threads.
